Studying and importing
How does spaced repetition work?

After reviewing a card, rate how well you remembered it. The FSRS-4.5 scheduler uses your recall and review history to adjust when you see that card again.

What study modes are available?

Choose from classic Flashcards (with optional Feynman 'Explain in Your Own Words' checks), Multiple Choice, Smart Writing with visual typo diffs, Match List, Drawing/Whiteboard, hands-free Audio Review, Timed Exam Mode, or word and memory games.

How do Fill-in-the-Blank (Cloze) and Image Occlusion cards work?

For Fill-in-the-Blank cards, highlight any word in the editor and tap the Cloze ([…]) button to turn it into a hidden blank you can tap to peek at during study—or split multiple blanks into separate cards with one tap. For visual diagrams like anatomy or maps, attach an image and open Image Occlusion to automatically detect text labels or draw boxes over the parts you want to quiz yourself on.

What are Feynman Mode and Smart Writing Mode?

Feynman Mode asks you to explain a card's concept in your own words (by typing or voice dictation) before flipping, then scores how many key ideas you covered and highlights anything you missed. Smart Writing Mode checks typed answers with forgiving typo tolerance, optional parenthetical hints, and color-coded character diffs so you see the exact letters to fix.

Can I cram specific cards or practice with a timer before an exam?

Yes. Use Custom Study Filters to practice only Hard/Struggling cards, New/Unseen cards, cards added in the last 7 days, or specific tags without disrupting your normal spaced repetition schedule. Turn on Timed Exam Mode for a live stopwatch, pace-per-card stats, and a 1-tap 'Drill Missed Questions' button at the end of your test.

Can I use images, Image Occlusion, and audio?

Yes! Add images to any card, hide diagram labels with Smart Image Occlusion, record your own voice directly on the front or back of a card, or listen to cards hands-free with text-to-speech.

Can I record my own voice or write math formulas (LaTeX)?

Yes. Tap the microphone icon when creating or editing a card to attach a voice recording to either side—perfect for language pronunciation or music practice. For math, physics, and chemistry, wrap formulas in $...$ or $$...$$ (such as $\frac{a}{b}$ or $\sqrt{x^2 + y^2}$) to render clean mathematical notation across web, iOS, and Android.

Can I create flashcards with AI?

Our AI tools turn a topic, lecture notes, or a PDF into draft flashcards in seconds, and you can also auto-convert pasted definitions into fill-in-the-blank Cloze cards with one tap. Check and edit the results before studying.

Can I import cards from Anki, Quizlet, or spreadsheets?

Import Anki decks (.apkg and .colpkg) directly with multi-field mapping, preserved formatting, and automatic Cloze support, or import CSV and Excel spreadsheets. You can also paste 'Term - Definition' notes for instant card splitting and use the Duplicate Finder to clean up repeated cards.
